CD 28 Gooseneck Replacement

Post by Anatrina »

I need to replace Anatrina's damaged gooseneck bracket. Rig-Rite does not have a replacement that attaches to a Spartan Spars CD-4 mast section. Before having one fabricated from stainless, is there any other options or sources?

Thanks!

You may have to use something available from one of the current spar manufacturers. The salvage yards would be an alternative. If you can remove the component you might be surprised at how a local talented machine shop is at providing a cost effective solution.

I’ve had luck finding misc. parts from “Sailboat Parts” (sailboatparts.com). Send them a picture of the part and a description of what you’re looking for. They seemed to have salvaged lots of sailboats and must have some (organized) Mad Max sort of boat graveyard. They’re easy to work with too and pricing has been good.

Thanks

Thank you Jim for the link and Skipd for the info. They will be a good starting point for the next repair. The gooseneck easily came off so we decided to go with a local fabricator.
