Greetings of the Season!
I know it's two days prior to Christmas, but part of my mind is already at sea. What are folks' thoughts and experiences regarding Navionics vs. Savvy Navvy? Also, which would be the best (cheaper!) water resistant tablet for the app that you are using?
Thanks,
All best wishes,
Harlan

Re: Navionics vs. Savvy Navvy
I don’t know what the more affordable tablet might be but I’ve used two different generations of iPads as one of my multiple backups to my chartplotter offshore. I used a “Lifeproof” iPad case for a few years but I found it quite heavy and never really needed it so I didn’t replace it when I acquired a new iPad which I just don’t expose to heavy weather. I have Navionics loaded on it and it works fine but my Garmin chartplotter is far superior since it has my AIS and radar integrated into it.
Savvy Navvy, from what I’ve read, is less detailed but you have the option of weather overlay on your charts. My choice would always be to favor more detail as weather info is available elsewhere.
