Post by jen1722terry »

Hi owners,

The fuel level gauge on our CD31 has stopped fuctioning (it stays on "E").

Does anyone know a source for a repacement gauge?

Thanks so much,

Since no one else has responded - I'll chime in.
You've probably already thought of this but -
I have no fuel gauge on my boat, so I keep a logbook of engine hours and how many gallons I put in each time I refill.
This has worked very well for me. The engine uses about 1/3 of a gallon per hour, so the math is easy.
Actually, there is a fuel gauge on top of the fuel tank but there is no way to read it the way the tank is mounted.

I believe the fuel gauges are all mechanical, it might just need to be cleaned. I added an access port on my 1985 CD30 tank a few years ago and in the process pulled the gauge, cleaned up the gook, replaced it, very straight forward.

Thx

When mine went bad, I replaced with a Tank Tender. It's a bit expensive, but works great. There are no moving parts, nothing
to break. It's been very reliable. I have the two-tank model and ran the other line to the holding tank.
