1985 Cape Dory 31 Cutter "Chinook"

https://maine.craigslist.org/boa/d/geor ... 79127.html

The Cape Dory 31 was during her time, one of Carl Alberg's most innovative interiors designs in a 31 footer. Spacious, bright and airy combined with a unique and efficient layout for comfortable cruising.

Under sail, the Cape Dory 31 cutter rig provides for spirited performance in a wide range of wind and sea conditions. Designed for lively action and durable enough for offshore pursuits. The full keel configuration with attached rudder adds to her stability. The self-tending club footed staysail reduces windward sailing to effortless tacks, and allows for a variation in the sail plan.

I actually saw and photographed Chinook off Pemaquid Pont last summer. I have always admired the CD31 and I was fortunate enough to sail to Nova Scotia as crew on a CD31. Good luck with the sale!

Best of luck to Rob with the sale. We also own a 31 (hull #33) and love it.

Personally, we think a 31 with an almost new re-power for $39K is a bargain. They're a great design with large aft head (great for showers and hanging wet foulies).

We live aboard our 31 all summer in Maine. It's quite comfortable in addition to being a safe, comfortable sailor.

Good luck!
