Harken MK III 00AL

Post by LSD87 »

Anyone have experience with this particular furler? Harken MK III 00AL isn't going back down after I lifted the drum for access to the turnbuckle to shorten and tighten the head stay. I can‘t seem to get it back down to where it belongs. I have the manual and must admit I cant figure it out. It seems to be banging agains something inside the assembly and I’m skittish to take it apart.

Update: I just spoke to Harken about my Furler. They said I have to bang on the torque tube with a rubber mallet and quite hard too. There are rivets that hold in the tack shackle on the torque tube and they can get caught. If that doesn't work I have to drill out the rivets and then replace them. Of course don't damage the foil! 3 good whacks did it. Hope this can help someone if they have this problem.
