Late fall sail

I'm standing on Gaspee Point beach in Narragansett Bay this afternoon hoping to catch a beautiful November sunset. I look up and see a red hulled sloop racing north up Narragansett Bay towards Rhode Island Yacht Club. If I were a betting man I'd say it was Fred Mueller in his Cape Dory 27 trying to get home before sunset. Although the only sail in sight, it left me longing for the summer days when the bay is full of them. Fred, you certainly painted a beautiful picture. I wish I had a camera.

It must have been our Fred! Probably scouting out locations for next summer's Narragansett Bay Float -in!

Fred’s boat parked right behind us in Red Brook Harbor, Cataumet, MA this past summer (2022). That’s my brother standing next to Bruce.
