When o went to Spartan site, the only motor mount they offered is this:
I called Spartan asking if the once sold another model, he said no. I said are you sure as I recall they had two models. The one above and a larger one…below is the one on my CD 22. You can see that it has a longer 3-hole tab where the board mounts vs the 2-hole tab. Mine seems a bit larger overall. The guy at Spartan claims it might have been a “custom” request. Hard to believe though…

Re: Different Spartan Motor Mounts
It looks like yours has been modified a bit from the original with a new cutaway wooden pad and some different stainless bolts. You can't tell from the angle of the photo on Spartan's web page, but the bracket does have 3 holes on each side where the pad is bolted (or at least mine does). Here's the only photo I could find of mine showing all 3 holes:

(The pink beach shoe is what I used temporarily to protect the teak before I sewed leather around the bronze arms. Don't judge me too harshly.)--Jim

Re: Different Spartan Motor Mounts
interesting. not sure why the person at Spartan thought mine was modified...with 3 holes...
i thought the pink thing was an undergarment....lol
and yes, the board is a replacement because on the 22, even with an ultra long shaft the bracket needs modification as shown so waterline is at least 3" above cavitation plate. I was actually thinking of changing this up to something nicer looking. The steel insert is there for strength since it has a cutout. Maybe I’ll make up something in ash with an aluminum plate insert using a router so it looks better…
i did end up getting a new SailPro last weekend at Defender.. Still break-in period. runs quiet. sometimes it does hunt around 2300-2500 rpm. I'll need to bore out the low speed jet a hair to avoid the low idle stalling that plagues these models. i fact i was out motoring for 2 hours and as i was backing into my spot...it stalled as i shifted into reverse 10 feet from landing.. i let her drift in and secured her. she started up right after however so perhaps the idle needs adjustment. will double check on the Tach
the lovely purple pool noodle is to prevent the frog hook from scratching the motor. it already scratched part of the side yesterday....sigh

Shortly after that photo was taken I replaced the beach shoe with leather:s2sailorlis wrote:i thought the pink thing was an undergarment....lol
Congratulations on your new outboard! Bummer about the scratch. I vaguely remember having to adjust the idle shortly after I got my Tohatsu 6, and haven't had a problem with stalling since.s2sailorlis wrote:i did end up getting a new SailPro last weekend at Defender.. Smooth sailing,
