Boat is located in South Portland, Maine
1976 Cape Dory 28. Solid boat, in water regularly over the years, currently on the hard and ready for this year. A classic cruising boat at home anchoring out for weekend overnights but capable of a lot more. All running rigging is in good shape and run aft to cockpit for easy single handed sailing.
Side stay chainplates are original as far as I know but they look and feel solid, no crazing around them on deck and inspection ports are clean.
The forward chainplate has corrosion but redundancy and design keep it solid.
Aft chainplate is solid.
Hull to deck joint is tight
Standing rigging has life left, no corrosion or splitting
Running rigging in good shape
Small soft spot in cockpit around rudder post
Cushions and sails stored indoors. The ones pictured are the backs for both settee, the lowers are green and fit full width. Port side pulls out to a double birth. Main sail has 4 battens and 3 reef points. Sails aren't new but have plenty of life left.

A mooring for the season is available. This boat is not a project, she has aged well and been looked after, however it’s an older boat and not “Bristol”. She is a solid, reliable, simple, comfortable, safe boat ready for adventures as is or a great hull to build the fully kitted cruiser of your dreams.
