The Endurance is remarkable preserved. If you have not read Shackleton's Boat Journey by F A Worsley do yourself a favor and read it. I think it's one of the greatest books written about seamanship and small unit leadership. I used to recommend it to all my Marines. Worsley was the captain of the Endurance and a helluva navigator.

Re: Shackleton's Ship Endurance Found!
9000+ feet down .... amazing ...
also:
"Shortly following the Endurance22 expedition setting off in February, SA Agulhas II became stuck in ice at the same spot where Endurance sank over a century ago.
The SA Agulhas II became stuck after the mercury dipped to -18°F (-10°C).
Dan Snow told The Times: 'Clever people did say to me on the way, "How do you know you're not going to get iced in like Shackleton?"
'I said, "Don't worry about that. We've got all the technology." But we are now iced in.'
Fortunately, thanks to technological advances such as mechanical cranes, engine power and a case of aviation fuel, crew members managed to free the vessel."

Re: Shackleton's Ship Endurance Found!
I know about Shackleton and his crew .. but 10 million dollars to find an old sunken ship? I guess that makes sense.
Re: Shackleton's Ship Endurance Found!
Hey, $10million is as $10million does! I know a fair few worse expenditures of that amount. As an admirer of historical adventure and conquest, I'm cool with it.
