It looks like we're going to be giving Rhapsody's topsides a good waxing this weekend. Since the search engine is stalled, I can only see recent postings.
After scrubbing her down with boat suds and a brush, what general gel coat cleaner do folks use before waxing, and what wax do you find works best?

Gel Coat Cleaners Pt. II

Re: Gel Coat Cleaners Pt. II
Mario,
We used 3M Marine Fiberglass Restorer and Wax which contains compound and wax, and then we followed it with two coats of 3M Marine Ultra Performance Paste Wax. I think the pros recommend three coats of wax, but you definitely need two on top of the restorer. 3M part numbers for these products are: restorer, 05113109006 and wax, 05113109030. For 36 ft. Parfait, a quart of restorer was more than enough for the hull and 9.5 oz. of wax was enough for two coats.
We applied the restorer with a dual speed buffer on low, but found it too fast for the wax, so we did that by hand. Maybe a more competent laborer could have made that or another buffer work on the wax, but I couldn't. Parfait looks georgeous nice from the toe rail south. Next, the toe rail north.
