Looking to purchase a used main sail and came across one at Bacon Supply. My concern is the dimension, specifically the foot.
Luff is 30ft 0in
foot is 12ft 6in
Thoughts would be appreciated.

This is from the 1981 Cape Dory manual.jmaue wrote:Looking to purchase a used main sail and came across one at Bacon Supply. My concern is the dimension, specifically the foot.

It appears the used sail is about 18" short on the luff. Depending on price, that may not be to bad.

Re: Sail dimensions for a CD28
Yes....a bit short on the leach and an inch long on the foot.
Informed it's in excellent condition at $1k.

Actually, the foot is exactly correct, the "12.5" in the top spec is in feet... ie: .5 = 6 inches.jmaue wrote:Yes....a bit short on the leach and an inch long on the foot.

In the diagram the measurements are stated feet and inches, just a bit harder to read.
Depending on shipping costs, it may be a good deal.
