Typhoon Edna Webb Spotted
Gayle and I drove out to Cedar Island, NC today on a lark. We stopped at a country store about three miles from the ferry terminal that transports passengers and vehicles to Ocracoke. A Jeep Wrangler pulled up behind us pulling a lovely CD Typhoon. We chatted with the driver and his companion. Turns out Travis and Becky were hauling Doug Tanner's Typhoon SV Edna Webb to Ocracoke Island which is one of the barrier islands that make up the Outer Banks. A very pretty boat beautifully maintained.

Re: Typhoon Edna Brown Spotted
Very nice Typhoon! Some interesting modifications...new teak all around (you can tell by the drains in the toe rails); hand-holds on the cabin roof; winches on the cabin roof; looks like a split backstay, or maybe that's just the aft attachment point for the lifelines. I especially like the teak winch handle holder. That's a super-long tongue extension on the Triad trailer--must be 16 feet or so!
I'm kind of surprised a Wrangler can tow a Typhoon--the towing capacity is listed at 2,000-3,500 lbs depending on model. An empty Typhoon plus the trailer alone have to be pushing 3,000 lbs.
John, would you change the title from "Edna Brown" to "Edna Webb"? I'm sure Edna would appreciate it!
Smooth sailing,
Jim

Done. I have no idea where Brown came from. LOL.wikakaru wrote: John, would you change the title from "Edna Brown" to "Edna Webb"? I'm sure Edna would appreciate it!

I have a Wrangler unlimited (four door). The tow vehicle here was an even shorter two door. I would not want to pull that thing even with my 3,500 lb capacity.
Nice boat though.
