Arietta, my CD22, is back in the water after her winter refit by Tim Lackey. The refit was the first phase of the total project. The work was separated into multiple phases, partly to spread out the costs over several years and partly because of Tim's availability over the winter.
There were two primary areas of focus for this phase: cockpit and topsides.
The cockpit was in pretty bad shape, with numerous holes drilled by previous owners. The cockpit sole coring was mush at the forward end, and the gelcoat was cracking in lots of places.
The topsides also suffered from drilled holes in the transom, numerous chips and gouges, plus the waterline was wonky and never looked right.
Tim did a beautiful job, and we are looking forward to continuing the refit with the rest of the deck next winter. For complete photos, check out Tim's web page, https://lackeysailing.com/projects/arietta/.
I have attached a few before/after photos to this post to give you an idea of how things look.
Smooth sailing,
Jim
