Swallow the anchor

Post by moctrams »

Time to say farewell to my beloved Gabbiano. She is going to a new owner in NC. She will stay in my slip at Flag Harbor Marina while repairs are done to his marina. Both a sad time and one of relief knowing she will be cared for. I have Loved my time sailing the Chesapeake bay for over 30 years, but I know when it's time to say farewell to a great boat.

Wonderful that you found a new owner that you think will do right ... I watched my Pa give up his beloved Hinkley years ago to a good owner - they kept in touch ... later when things got rough for him with age, I'd say " how you doing Pa", he'd smile and say "I'm sailing".
