Interesting whale detection map link above. You can change the species and hit the GO button on the lower left of the screen. It’s always interesting to have a whale decide to take a closer look at you but I do my best to avoid close encounters and keep them at a distance if I notice surface activity.

Hey Jim,

Hope the first days of spring find you and your family healthy and safe.

We happened to see your whale map posting and thought that might be useful for us. If, and it's still a large if, the US-Canada border opens sometime this summer, we plan to sail the 31 across the Bay of Fundy and on up the coast to our other home in Mahone Bay, near Lunenburg. This is all assuming our other home is still extant, for we haven't been there 15 months.

Anyhow, lots of whales in Fundy, particulalry near Brier Island. Like you, we like to avoid whales whenever possible. Too big.

So we'll check the map before we cross the Bay of the Big Tides, and hopefully avoid the whales.

Of course, if we can't enter Canada, we'll stay in NE Harbor for another season. Not a bad summer, all in all.

So do you think you'll be able to get down to Bermuda this year?

All else well up here in NH.
