New Name for our boat...

Post by Senorjacob »

In anticipation of our second season with our boat we decided to rechristen her. The PO’s name didn’t mean much to us and though I’ve heard it’s bad luck to rename a boat, we decided to go through with it. Found a fellow in Plymouth who hand paints boat names. I didn’t think I could be more in love with my boat after this I definitely am.

Very nice. I renamed her when I bought Orion. An old girlfriend and I went through the old renaming ceremony......just to keep Poseidon appeased.....seems to have worked.

Yes, quite classy. The dark hull enhances everything. Hopefully we'll all have a great season coming up!- Jean

I recommend Vigor's denaming ceremony. It worked for me when I changed the name on my CD.

You're a little bit in peril because the ceremony should be done before the new name is anywhere on the boat. But exceptions can be made for really well cared for boats. It looks like Joan Wilder meets that standard.

Beautiful.

Ditto Jerry’s recommendation. Renaming ceremony very important. There are long standing reasons for this superstition.

Dinghy name? El Corazon? Jessie?

I will get right on the denaming ceremony. Thanks for the tip. As for the dinghy, she of course is named Pepe, my little mule.
