Lazy Jacks

Post by Ken Schwinger »

I have a CD 27 and would like to install lazy jacks. I need measurments from someone out ther as I am going to make my own lazy jacks. This board has been a great help with all you folks that have tried many things on your CDs. I am looking for ideas on hardware as well as sizes thanks Ken

Ken,

You can get all the information from the Instruction Manuals for Harken lazy jacks. Try: harken.com/lz252.pdf (or 253, 254 depending on height of your mast). You can print all of the manuals if ya want.

The manuals will also give you a real good idea of the configuration of a lazy jack system.

Hope this helps......

I installed the Harken lazy jacks as per instructions on the Harken package. It was a great addition to my CD28. Later, I found that the aft attachment point of the line on the boom should have been attached further aft, say about 12 inches or so. It would have nestled the lower panels of the sail much better instead of how they flopped on one side or the other. You should draw it out on paper before you install to see how the unit "captures" your falling main.
