Typhoon clevis pin size

Post by fpdima »

Hi - does anyone know the proper clevis pin diameter for mast tangs on a 1973 Typhoon? The tangs on my mast allow for a 1/4" clevis pin, but the forks on the upper and lower shrouds and forestay only allow for 3/16" pin. I was wondering what the original shrouds and forestay had, since I am sure the rigging has been redone at least once or twice since 1973. Did the original Typhoon have 1/4" or 3/16" pins on the mast tangs for the shrouds and the forestay. Thanks for any input.

I don't know the answer to the what was original question but... The pin size should match the size of the tangs AND the forks. Small pins in large holes are not a good thing.
