From Practical Sailor: The Ego-trap of Riding the Storm Out

Interesting article on the dangers of certain storm tactics. I did this during H. Gloria in 1985. Nowadays I wonder what in the world I was thinking. Note the URL may require that the reader sign in to PS.

I would believe it's rather difficult to get details from those miss-adventures... :?:

I have not read the story yet. But, I fall into the camp of depending on the circumstances there can be good reasons for staying with your boat. I know lots of people that have done it successfully. Again, it depends....

MTF....

I read it. Not much there to disagree with.... “It’s dangerous to ride out hurricanes and typhoons. Do not underestimate them. Most people should not do it. You can’t do anything at the height of the storm to help your boat. Sometimes it is a reasonable choice. Choose wisely. Make sure it’s worth it. Plan accordingly.”

Seems reasonable time me. Am I missing something?
