The shaft anode on my boat is mounted on the end of the shaft. It’s secured to the shaft with a cotter key.
This is a 1985 CD25D and they may have used a different anode than the clam shaped anodes that I saw mentioned in earlier posts. There isn’t room on the shaft for that type anode. In looking into it a bit, I see that a "Perry Nut" is what's used. I sprayed it with penetrating oil yesterday and removed the 1/8" cotter key. I hope to get it off today and find a zinc replacement. The boat was a fresh water boat so I will replace with zinc since it going into salt water.
I hope to find a replacement??
I've added a photo of what I have.
Thanks
Tom

It looks like you have plenty of room to use a propeller nut like these:

The replaceable zinc is held on by a stainless steel allen head screw. The cotter pin for the nut lives under the zinc. I have no idea what size you need for the 25D, it depends on the size of the shaft.
Here is another page for reference. These style nuts and replacement zincs are available from almost all marine retailers. I prefer the Camp brand nuts over the questionable no-name China imports.

Re: CD 25D anode
Hi Rich,
That's exactly what I needed. the 3/4"x10 should work very well and yes, I much prefer the American made product.
Thanks,
Tom
