Second Wind; The Tale of a Sailor

Post by Sea Hunt Video »

I just watched a very interesting program called Second Wind; The Tale of a Sailor. It was on a local public broadcasting network. The one hour program was about a professional sailing photographer Onne van der Wal who decided to buy an old Pearson 36 and refurbish her. The first part of the program is about his youth and introduction to sailing. The next part is about the purchase and refurbishing of his Pearson 36.

This is what I hope is a website link that should get you to the program. As most of you know I am not very good with computer stuff. So, if it's a bad website link I apologize in advance. If you Google "Second Wind, Tale of a Sailor" you will find many references to this program. Perhaps another website link will work.

As someone who lacks most of the skills needed to refurbish a sailboat I was fascinated to watch the refurbishing of his sailboat. He did a complete refurbish of the cabin, plumbing, wiring, deck, topsides, sails, etc. It was all done in Bristol, RI which should be of interest to those who live in the RI, Conn., eastern Mass. area.

I am guessing that guys like John S., Jim W., Mike and others who regularly post about their maintenance and upgrades will find this an interesting show to watch for an hour with a pint or two of Guinness.
Fair winds,

Roberto

Thanks for the recommendation Roberto. Onne is a well known marine photographer who has had a gallery at Bannisters Wharf in Newport R.I. for many years.
