Yanmar - dying warning horn

Post by csoule13 »

The warning horn on my YSM8 has lost it's punch and volume. At first, I thought it was dying batteries, as I had recently replaced the alternator. Nope, batteries are strong as a bull and charging nicely when the engine is running.

The lights on the panel are still fine, the engine starts and runs fine, so this isn't a high priority item given where and how I use the boat. But I am curious as to what the cause could be, and if there is a relatively easy fix.

May be as simple as a little corrosion on the wires where they attach to the back of the panel.
