I am the new owner of Felicity, a 1979 Intrepid 9 Meter.
I bought her in 2019 in Portsmouth RI, sailed her down to Fairfield CT and am on my second season of sailing.
I have some questions for other Intrepid owners and will start with this one:
Here is a picture of the rudder taken a few month ago.
When she was on the hard last Winter a small amount of rusty water leaked out of the rudder.
The water stain can be seen on the new bottom paint.
Any ideas on where this might be coming from and how to repair it.
The rudder seems to work fine otherwise.

Hi Ken,
Did you own a Sea Sprite 23 in South Benson a few years back? I think we exchanged emails when I finally came up on the list to F-Dock in 2017. Welcome to the Cape Dory world. This site is a great resource,

Re: Intrepid 9 Meter Rudder Leakage
Hello Rick,
Yes. That's me. I kept the Sea Sprite at the South Benson Marina for one season. I recall seeing your boat there. I was impressed with how well maintained she looked. I got a mooring in Southport Harbor the next year and was able to put a larger boat on it and so I bought Felicity. I do miss the full keel stability and tracking of the Sea Sprite. Felicity is not without her problems and I'll be posting and seeking advice over the next few weeks.
