Has anyone with the original separate speed and shift Morse controls, switched to a single lever control system and if so what and how and any special considerations?

I haven't but would like to. I looked into it one time but found that the linkage to the Westerbeke 13 wan't designed for single lever. At least, that's wha I was told, if you find differently please post!!!!!
