Cape Dory 33 Lifeline pelican hook threading

Post by Paul D. »

Greetings fellow CD sailors,

Would anyone on a 33 have the proper size for a top lifeline pelican hook? I would like to take advantage of the Defender sale, but realized I didn't get the size from the boat last fall. I believe it is 1/4" but not sure. I know the middle lifeline hook is not the same size stud, so it could not be switched out. These are hooks with a female thread for the threaded stud terminating the life line.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The studs on my boat are 1/4", top and bottom. The upper wire is 3/16" and the lower 1/8". Post
has been edited. Hope that helps, Jean

Thanks, yes I believe they are left hand threads. Someday, I'll replace with dyneema maybe. People really seem to like those.
