2022 Golden Globe Entrant Cape Dory 36 S/V Dream Catcher
Joe DeAlteris, S/V Dream Catcher II (CD36) recently learned that his "old" CD36 “Dream Catcher” was sold to Mike Davey, an entrant in the 2022 Golden Globe Around the World Race. The boat is now in Australia being prepared for the race. You can find more about it by Googling: Golden Globe 2022, and Dream Catcher or click Dream Catcher Golden Globe

Bob and Jim,
Did you see his recounting of removing his bowsprit? Ended up pulling it off with a crane buy not before the whole boat was lifted by the bowsprit alone. Amazing.

Does Mike Davey have s website?
Re: 2022 Golden Globe Entrant Cape Dory 36 S/V Dream Catcher
I couldn’t find one but the link Bob provided does have a link on the bottom right of the page “follow me on Facebook”.John Stone wrote:Does Mike Davey have s website?
I won’t try the link because I’ve backed away from Facebook for personal reasons, but he may have a presence there.

Copy. I saw that. I deleted my Facebook account a couple years ago. Don’t miss it.Jim Walsh wrote:I couldn’t find one but the link Bob provided does have a link on the bottom right of the page “follow me on Facebook”.John Stone wrote:Does Mike Davey have s website?

Hi Jim and John.
I don’t do Facebook either, but I followed the link on Mike’s page, I didn’t create a new Facebook or Sign in to an account (took the not now option) and I gained access to at least some of Mike’s postings. I assume that’s where Walter heard about how hard it was to remove the bow sprit.
All the best
Bob

Here's how to enjoy facebook:
1. Don't accept friend requests from anyone you don't know. In other words, if they're not your actual friends or family, don't 'friend' them.
2. Just as on this message board, avoid posting anything concerning politics or religion. It has no place on facebook which was originally designed to provide an easy way for college students to keep in touch with their family and friends back home to let them know what and how they were doing and share photos of them doing it.
3. Don't post anything racist, sexist or otherwise offensive.
4. If your friends insist of posting political, racist and/or stuff like that, simply stop 'following' them. You don't need to unfriend them, just stop following them.
5. If you enjoy videos of puppies and kittens (who doesn't), watch, smile and move on.
6. Avoid posts by individuals asking for you to supply information about yourself, or your likes and dislikes. They are phishing.
By the way, if you do enjoy using facebook, by all means join the 'Cape Dory Fans' group. You will only find posts there relating to Cape Dorys, sailing and boating in general.

Probably good tips for those that enjoy FB. I’m just not one of them.Cathy Monaghan wrote:Here's how to enjoy facebook:
