Can anyone ID these Parts?

Post by John Stone »

Was rummaging through my stash of bronze hardware that I took off the Far Reach during the rebuild.

Can anyone ID these two small bronze parts? I’m wondering if the one isn’t for securing the forestay when released but it doesn’t look robust enough. Plus the fasteners would be in tension vice shear.

It looks like the bracket for a Groco raw water strainer. Mine looks exactly like that. - Jean

Outstanding Jean! That’s exactly what it is. I’ve been saving that strainer too. But, there is a gouge in the plastic bowl so it will need to be replaced.

Still hoping to ID that other part.

Maybe the curved bracket holds something that’s cylindrical in shape vertically?

You're welcome, John. The other piece is the lower bracket. You screw it to the wall and
then put a plastic wire tie around the arc and the bowl of the strainer to keep it in place and
prevent flopping. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to buy a replacement bowl.

Thanks Jean. That’s it! Now I’m on a hunt for that darn spartan bronze fuel vent. I’m going nuts! I am sure I have had it in my hand in the last year or so.
