CD 27 Interior bulkhead finish

My CD 1977 27 has yellow paint on the portside forward bulkhead. I'm stripping that off and would like to refinish in as close to possible matching clear as the rest of the interior. It appears matte or satin. It is definitely not gloss.
As I strip it, it appears lighter in color. Perhaps it is stained then varnished?
Anyone know what was used in the factory? I know it's a 40 year old boat and all the finish has probably darkened.
My guess is that I will have to experiment with various finishes to find a close match.

Our 1980 27 had oiled teak bulkheads - no varnish. The bulkheads had darkened considerably over time. We briefly discussed going Herreshoff and painting the panels white but leaving the trim oiled teak - couldn't bring myself to do it!

I use Lemon oil on my interior oiled teak. It smells good, gives the wood a rich glow, and makes a mold phobic surface. After a good oiling it really makes the interior pop as they say. I try to do it once a season but usually it is every two. Make sure to get a lemon oil with no waxes or silicone. I've found Formby's at a hardware store the most available. It goes a long way too.

I freshened up my interior over the past couple seasons using Epifanes Rubbed Effect varnish which seems to be a pretty common default treatment and was in fact a perfect match for my interior. Granted, my CD is a 1990 so I have no idea if that's what they were using in 1977 but if you're planning on testing a few options I'd certainly add that to your list.
