CD 33 sedan propellers

I own and love a 33’ CD flybridge sedan, vintage 1989, powered by twin Volvo TAMD41A engines. But we may have a problem with our propellers. Does anyone have original specs on the recommended prop size and pitch? I’d be so grateful if you can help. Thanks.

Welcome to the board. Think about joining the organization if you haven’t already. There isn’t a lot of power boaters here, probably reflective of the relative number of sail boats / power boats manufactured by Cape Dory. Copies of a variety of owner manuals is available on the site. Kind of doubt if there is a manual here for you model that it would have information on the original specs on the prop. A good prop shop should be able to help.

Also, in addition to those resources, I would find Dave Gerr's Nature of Boats book. It has a pretty good chapter on propellers and correctly sizing them. I believe he did another book just on the subject too. It could inform the way you go about forming your solution for this problem.

Good luck. Our friends just got a CD30 motorsailer and we've been aboard a few times. It's pretty nice! I could almost see..... nah, what am I thinking?
