Repowering on Long Island

Repowering on Long Island
I am thinking of repowering our CD27 Troika with a Betamarine engine. There are two dealers in our area: Whitworth Marine and Brewers in Greenport. I would welcome any advice on which to go with.
Re: Repowering on Long Island
My son Toby, who put a Beta 14 into my 27, ordered from Sound Marine Diesel in Newington, CT - that was his preference for reasons having to do with his company in Bristol - Carbon Ocean Yachts and the people they are most familiar with.

All I can really say is the engine arrived via freight in its factory box - I had no interaction with the dealer. My son got a professional discount of 5% I think ...
I did have earlier conversations with Farron Peffer at the main Beta US office in North Carolina over a period of years leading up ...
He is well known on this board I think ... if you are installing yourself you could order directly from them as well ... and they are very knowledgeable and friendly.

What motor would you be replacing? If it's the Yanmar YSM 8, you can keep the original engine pan and just build up the forward beds with any material you choose - we used glassed in G10. I'll get you the dimensions if you want ... the smaller angled beds go unused. Having a proper pan is a big plus for your bilge! - and for diagnostic reasons if you do have a leak of some kind you'll actually notice it.
