Cape Dory 30 Ketch for sale $25,000 SOLD

Due to MY worsening health issues, Jim Spiro (401-258-26250) has taken over the sale of the ketch.

After 30 years of great sailing, my age and health are telling me that it is time for S/V Iolanthe to have a new captain. Iolanthe is a Cape Dory 30 ketch. Like many Cape Dory models, she is a Carl Alberg design. The 10,000 pound displacement with 4,000 pounds of fully encapsulated lead keel, gives her crew a sea-kindly ride. The ketch rig allows many sail configurations for light air and heavy air. Working sails can be all self tacking. Cape Dory practice was to equip all models with diesel power and this model has Yanmar power (YSB-12).

Nice looking CD. I have over $50k in my 1982 CD20C. I will be lucky if I can get $20k.

I hope that when it becomes time to sell your boat you are able to obtain what is fair for it. In the interim, sail it until you have $50K worth of enjoyment.

In my case, I do not have the option... you have to play out the hand with the cards you have been dealt.

I was able to find about a dozen Cape Dory 30 boats currently being offered for sale. The average price seems to be about the price I have posted. We will see what the market will support.

I saw 8 Cape dory boats on Yacht World ranging from $19.900 to $30,00. You can't compare the MKII. I have noticed that before this year sailing, the priced were around $15,000. SailboatListings.com has 7 ranging from $8000 to $38,000. A used boat knowledgeable person will lowball half the asking price. Good luck.
