Rust seeping from steel deck support

I verified that my water ingress was from holes drilled to run wires. The water rusted the deck steel support, and winter freezing of that water resulted in the cracks. Paul Calder’s blog has a great section which shows this glassed in steel support after cutting the area open.

My CD has always been in freshwater, so I am assuming that the structural damage may not require opening the deck. I sure hope so. I plan to drill holes into the area to check the rust damage, and then use those holes to first inject rust reformer, followed by epoxy or polyester resin.

Any ideas opinions are greatly appreciated.

Post subject: Tube For Mast Wiring. Check put how Jonathon run his wires. Some day I will copy. I guess the link isn't coming up. Search " tube for mast wires", Hilbert or John Stone

Thanks for the heads-up, I found the post and photo of the mast tube, impressive improvement. With my mast down now would be a perfect time to install it.
