The Bahama hurricane and storms
As if the Bahamas does not already have almost insurmountable problems, there is this possibly heading towards them.
Many of us spend time in the Bahamas - diving, sailing, fishing, etc. I respectfully urge you to consider making a donation to any one of several humanitarian agencies that are working to bring some small sense of normalcy (a warm meal, clean drinking water, clothes, etc.) to our friends in the Bahamas. If in doubt about the bona fides of an aide organization you can go to Charity Navigator; https://www.charitynavigator.org/
United Way of Miami Dade is a charity organization that is making direct contributions (clothes, food, water, etc.). They are well-respected in Miami. There are MANY others, including the Red Cross. There are various websites with lists of organizations.
Thank you.

Roberto,
You may be in the clear.

Of course things can change, as you know.
This one doesn't sound too bad.

Re: Roberto, don't look now
Captain Hook:
Thanks.
Florida will be OK. I am a lot more concerned about all of the people in the Bahamas who survived 48 hours of non-stop Cat. 5 (160+ mph) winds, tornadoes, 15' storm surge, etc. It appears they now are going to be subjected to torrential rain, TS winds, etc. Because Southeast Florida is so close, ALL of the local channels show daily videos and updates of the devastation, the loss of life (more than 1,500 missing) and the desperation of parents with small children and babies.
I again respectfully urge you to consider making a donation to any one of several humanitarian agencies that are working to bring some small sense of normalcy (a warm meal, clean drinking water, clothes, etc.) to our friends in the Bahamas. If in doubt about the bona fides of an aide organization you can go to Charity Navigator; https://www.charitynavigator.org/
