Yanmar Dipstick Needed
Yanmar Dipstick Needed
I am looking for a dipstick for a Yanmar YSB8 engine.
Re: Yanmar Dipstick Needed
That engine has been out of production for quite a while and chances of finding a scrapped engine are slim You could possibly make your own from a replacement dipstick at an auto parts store, cutting it down
and making a rubber cap for it.
and making a rubber cap for it.

Toad Marine has some YSB 8 parts. I just got an ign switch and idiot lights. (kind of pricey.) Email a guy named Brian, very helpful.
PS I would love an intact panel for said lights and switch. It IS no longer available.

Re: Yanmar Dipstick Needed
The Yanmar part number for the dipstick/cap is 104214-01750. Although the engine is no longer made, the dipstick may have been common to many other engines. Contact your Yanmar dealer to see if the part number is available. If nothing is available, the screw cap may be common to all engines and could be used to at least cover the opening. Mack Boring used to be a good source of parts (even used).
Good luck,

Southern Global tractor in Wiggins MS has parts for many japanese engines. Should be able to cross reference, same engines, with marine parts. tractor parts are usually easier to find plus cost less.
