Hypalon Inflatable Repair

Post by Dick Kobayashi »

I have made successful repairs to my main tubes. But now I find I have a leak in the center tube under the floor board that places compression on the floor and shapes the forward part of the bottom. The leak in this tube is at the end right where the end of the tube is crimped and glued to close the tube.Any advice for a simple approach to this issue. The real problem is getting a proper surface to work with. I had thought to simply cutting the end off (about 2 inches) and recrimping and gluing. but maybe there is an easier way. Dingy only used a few times a year and only as a tender. Over the years I have gained a lot of respect for hypalon as a material. My dingy was made by Toyo of Japan and I think it was made in the 60s. I wouldn't say it was as good as new but it has been adequate when filled with air and the cost was zero. Advice?
