Typhoon Trailer Specs

Post by cefly »

Our scout troop has acquired a Typhoon for our sailing program. Does anyone have the specs on the bunk spacing for the trailer. We have a trailer however, we are not sure the distance between the stands are correct.

Thank You

The original Cape Dory owners manual gives the following dimensions for the spacing of supports for a Typhoon cradle: 48” between the uprights and 68” fore & aft. In actuality, anything close to these dimensions will still work as long as the vertical dimension between the keel support and the bunks or crewjacks is 24”+/-. You have a lot more variability with actual location of the uprights with screwjacks vs. bunks as they are better able to conform to the varying shape of the hull. Hope this helps!
