Just spent the morning taking the cover off my brothers CD33. It was snowing at the time.

He was still whistling a happy tune.

The weather is what it is.

It’ll be blowing 20 to 30 with 40 knot gusts Tuesday and Wednesday. It always PAYS to have substantial ground tackle. It’s amazing how this depression seems to have pinpointed Bermuda. :?

I’ve always wanted to sail to Bermuda. It’s only 600nm from home. But, it doesn’t seem to matter if it’s winter of summer, Bermuda seems like a magnet for low pressure systems. I’m confident I’ll get there one day though....

Have a great time. Post pictures when you can. Always interested in your take.

This is the latest guidance from NOAA/NHC. Jim, as I am sure you know, it is projected to pass over Bermuda.

A low pressure system is expected to form within this area of disturbed weather later today, and this
system could become a short-lived subtropical or tropical cyclone by
tonight or Tuesday while it moves northward or northeastward. By
Wednesday, however, conditions are forecast to become unfavorable
for further development, and the system should be absorbed by a cold
front.
An Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft is scheduled to
investigate the disturbance this afternoon, if necessary. Interests
in Bermuda should monitor the progress of this system.

It's all better (not great but better) Perhaps Mother Nature was simply letting us all know she is out there watching us and we had all better behave on the water and at our docks or moorings. She can be very, very nasty when offended. :( :(

I just got off the phone with Chris Parker. There is a more to this story....

Chris thinks there could be some disturbances caused by Andrea that could be problematic spinoffs. As in additional STS development...though he thinks the probabilities for it to occur are low. European models also show some potential for the formation of a STS near the VI and NE Caribbean next week. Need to keep my eye on that. So, the way ahead for me is to be patient. Let the ridge form in the Atlantic that will allow the trades normally associated with my planned route home to develop. So that’s my plan. Fingers crossed.

Roberto's "weather guidance" is that you remain in the islands for several more days enjoying seafood, beers and pleasant weather. It will be time enough to begin your return sail once an "Atlantic weather ridge system" (highly technical term) forms and pushes Andrea and her remnants out into the far Atlantic.

Seafood, beer and stary nights. It don't get much better than that. Enjoy :!: :D :D

You pay me good money for my weather advise. You should heed it.
