A very long story short, I have an uncle who will be seeing his last sunset relatively soon. My old man had been hoping to get him down to Annapolis for a sail before then, but it just isn't going to happen. They will both be in the south eastern part of Mass this weekend. Is there anyone who has their boat in the water already who would be willing to have them aboard for a short sail this coming weekend(5/4, 5/5). I am not sure what their schedule is, but standing on the sidelines not being able to help, I wanted to at least ask the community if this is a possibility.
Again, apologies if this is is out of bounds.
Sincerely appreciated,
Chris

Chris:
I can't help with your request. I live in Miami.
However, your request is absolutely NOT out of bounds. This board is a family above all else. I am sure someone will make it happen if they have launched this season.
My very best to you and your family.

I can't help you as I won't be in the water by then, but I appreciate what you are trying to do. Unfortunately, I don't think it is going to be a great sailing weekend in terms of weather, although Saturday may end up being mostly dry. I hope you are able to work something out.

Looks like this won't get off the ground, and the weather looks sketchy as hell for the weekend.
If anyone in the area sees this moving forward and has a weekend later in the month availble, please reach out. I don't know the various schedules of those involved, but it would still mean the world to them. An hour on the water is all it would take, really.
And thanks for the kind words, Roberto. I'll tip back a pint of the good stuff for you tonight.

Re: S. East Mass sailors - A favor
Quite a few years ago, I took out, a very elderly, friend who lives in my town. He used to sail and even had a CD-10 in his back yard. He was one of the most enjoyable guests I have ever had aboard. He was glowing the whole time and telling me stories of his exploits, of long ago. I think we both knew it would be the last time he ever went sailing but neither of us ever hinted at that. He is still hanging in there but I am not sure if he is mobile enough to go again. I felt honored to take him out and it was a lot of fun for both of us. I hope some one will be able to do the same for me when my time comes, Steve.
