Kidde Fire Extinguisher Recall

Post by Bob Ohler »

Fellow CDSOA'ers... this is by far not new news, as in 2017 Kidde issued a recall on specific models of their extinguishers equipped with plastic nozzles. I finally got around to calling my in yesterday. It was a quick process over the phone and they told me to me to expect my replacements in about 2 weeks.

I took care of 2 extinguishers from the house as well as one from the boat that was eligible for exchange.

Call 1-800-800-6788. You will want to have your extinguishers in your hand when you call.

Here is the link.

Captain Bob, thanks so much for posting this important safety recall information. The only thing that I can think of that would be worse than not having a fire extinguisher when you need it is to have one that has an unknown defect that you think works but in actuality doesn't. JD

My new Kidde extinguishers arrived last week. I received great customer service from Kidde. The new ones arrived with instructions and FedEx labels for returning the recalled products.

A good company that handled the problem!

Fair winds!
