John Ring Published Photographer in Boat US Magazine

Post by Sea Hunt Video »

Our brother Cape Dorian, John Ring, is a published photographer :!: :!: :!:

John's photo of S/V Tiara, his Cape Dory 36, is a Finalist in the Boat US Magazine biannual photo contest. John's photo, entitled "Halfway To Bermuda" is published on page 53 of the February/March 2019 issue of Boat US Magazine. The self photo ("selfie") shows John with a GoPro or similar mounted on a long pole. He is at the bow and S/V Tiara has "a bone in her teeth"

Congratulations John :!:
Fair winds,

Roberto

Thanks!

That was a fun picture from a great adventure - the 2017 Marion-Bermuda race. Tiara & Crew are making another run in the 2019 edition of the race starting on June 14 of this year. The race is open to seaworthy cruising boats 32' and over, but there is a lot of prep work and safety gear to have in place before the start. If anyone is interested in joining the race the time to get started is now. The live on-line satellite based race tracking system by YB Tracking is pretty neat too!

That’s a great picture. Nice angles, great color, good action, and excellent contrast.

Will be watching to see how Tiara does this June. Hope she is at the front of the pack showing them what a well handled Cape Dory can do.

Beat out by a dog playing tug with a runabout on a gritty lake shore. Life isn't fair. It wasn't even a cute little puppy!

Great picture, John.
