I've been swapping some email with NE Fleet Captain Bob Lascelles, about making this an official CDSOA Northeast Fleet event, which will make it even better. (It won't be "members only," and I promise I won't let allow any long speeches, except from Clearwater's Captain about all things related to sailing a traditional 105' (sparred length) Hudson River Sloop.

And yes, Clearwater has a tiller, a very long tiller. Also an oars-only yawl boat that has no problem meeting Coast Guard standards for crew overboard recovery.

A quick update: With the generous support of the CDSOA NE Fleet, CDSOA members can buy tickets on the CDSOA Clearwater sail for just $40. Thanks to NE Fleet Captain Bob Lascelles! (If your check's already in the mail, we'll figure it out later. Otherwise, just include your member number along with your check and passenger information.)

I've been away for a couple of weeks and just got through the mail. The latest update is 14 tickets sold, 36 to go. (Don't wait too long; I expect sales to be brisk at the January Northeast Fleet meeting.)

Looking forward to seeing everyone next week at the Northeast Fleet meeting!

I've put together a short slide presentation, including a short video... and a few added slides on how a Hudson River jibe is executed.

Looking forward, as well, to sailing on Clearwater with as many CDSOA friends as possible. Bring your checkbooks!!!

Quick update... 19 tickets sold!

I'm still waiting for confirmation of the date... I"ll post it as soon as I know.

2019 is the 50th anniversary of Clearwater's launch, as well as the 100th birthday of Pete Seeger, Clearwater's founder. Celebrate all that Pete Started, and all that Clearwater's done, not just for the Hudson, but for the water you sail on, too, by joining us on board.
