Certificate of Documentation time is upon us

Post by Jim Walsh »

I just submitted my renewal online....easy process. For those who have chosen to document their vessel time is of the essence as a late fee is assessed for late renewals.

Jim:

I am not sure if all USCG vessel documentation renewals are renewed/issued at the same time for everyone.

For S/V Bali Ha'i, I renewed her Certificate of Documentation in January 2018, valid for one year through January 2019. I did not do mine on line. I am an old-fashioned "luddite". I wrote out a check and used a stamp. I have renewed in January of every year for the past 7-8 years.

Apparently they stagger renewals. A true "Luddite" would not be tapping away at the keys of a computer :D

I confess. I am only a "some time "Luddite". My goddaughter refers to me as a dinosaur and she does not say this with a loving smile on her face.
