This is why I try to be in home waters by the second week of July.

July is a little late for offshore off the SE or mid Atlantic coast. It’s part of the reason I passed on sailing to Bermuda this year. I had the window for getting there but not enough time to stay there long enough (to make it worthwhile) and get home before the wx window passed. When I make that trip, I’d like to depart NC in early May and return home in early June.

Seems like the warmer weather patterns are making the traditional windows smaller. When I was a kid hurricane season was 1 June to 30 Oct.
