Jib halyard

Post by Big E »

The jib halyard in my CDI roller furler is toast. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to replace without unstepping the mast? Solstice is already on the mooring. Also, what length line should I get for a CD25? All replies appreciated. :D

I'm not really familiar with CDI furlers but manuals are available online, see link below. I believe they list the halyard size and length.

You should buy a replacement halyard directly from CDI for the model/extrusion length on your boat. The halyard has a metal ferrule on it designed to slide inside the extrusion while the lower end of the halyard rides outside. You will need to use the existing halyard as a lead to pull the new halyard up from the bottom. Be careful not to pull an end up out of reach or you will be taking the mast down anyways.

CDI is a good company to deal with and will be helpful.
