A while back Dan Spur asked for pictures for his article "10 Sailboats Under 50 Grand", and I sent in our CD30K "Ocean's Poem".
Yay! We got lucky!!

The bell-bouy is at the entrance to Broad Sound, Maine.
A friend asked, "Hey wait, where are you when you took that picture, swimming?"

Re: Ocean's Poem In Cruising World-Fame and Glory!
That was not the most glowing review I have ever read.
Re: Ocean's Poem In Cruising World-Fame and Glory!
Oh, I see...
I guess shiny baubles and pictures are enough to attract my attention, so I did not finish the article...I have to agree that when the last sentence suggests you buy something else, why include that in the list? I already have (and LOVE!) mine, so as the title suggests, I'm just out for bragging rights on the photo!
I **was** going to cry "foul" on the very first entry, Bristol 40, because, while I did see that there were 2 out of 13 Bristol 40s under $50k in Yachtworld.com, I'm not sure that they are actually available for under $50k in any kind of sail-able shape.
Upon finishing the article, I see the lower range on the CD30 is listed at $7K. A few years back I bid a few times on a CD30K for sale on eBay, I quit at $3500 (**I** already have one, but heck, at $3500 there are a lot of spare parts in there!). I think it went for something like $5500, but God only knows what kind of shape it is in.
It may have even gone for more, but apparently there is some limit on eBay above which you have to be "specially approved" in order to bid higher. Maybe $5K?
My point is, sure, you might get a junky, junky one at $7K, but that is hardly the correct range.
So, "Curse you, Dan Spur!" (Hey, go check out the cool photo of my boat in Cruising World!)
