Optional Water Tank for 25D

Post by Bill »

Hello to all

I am in the process (with the aid of another good and noble skipper) of tracking down the model number of the optional water tank that fits under the starbd sette of the 25D. The manufacturer was Kracor and when I get additional information (ie volume) I will be checking into the cost of the tank. Are there any other 25D owners that would consider this upgrade and split the tooling cost?

If the tank also fits in the 27, I would definitely be interested.

I use that area for storage, and have a few questions.

What is the capacity of the tank?

Does installation involve cutting the hull liner under the settee?
If so, How is the tank installed? Does this affect the stiffness of the hull contributed by the floor pan?

Thanks!

My CD27 has a water tank under the stbd sette, but my boat already lists noticibly to stbd so I have never filled it. I have two batteries on that side too. I wonder if other CD27 owners notice their boats listing to starboard?

Bill,
I would also be interested in the water tank if it would fit in the CD 26. I think it probably would although the stbd sette is a little different.

Coquina has an optional tank -- 30 gallons, I think, but it's under the quarter berth. I don't use it because the boat squats even with it empty. I try to keep all the extra weight I can out of the aft end. I don't store anything back there except the flasher.

Hello Bob

Well I cant answer all your questions but I have been told that you do not cut the liner and at this point i am still waiting to find out the volume. I dont think it would affect anything but the list (is that the way its spelled?) to port (if you have two bateries). But then I am not a NA!!!!

I will let you know more when I know more.

Hope you are dug out of the snow

Bill
