cape dory 28 cockpit drain size

Post by duckie »

Would appreciate if anyone can tell me the hose size for the cockpit drain hose for a cape dory 28 and the
size of the spartan seacock (original).

Which hose brand should I get ?

Thanks to all

My 1976 CD28 had 1-1/2" scuppers, but the Spartan seacocks were 1-1/4" with funky plastic adapters for 1-1/2" hose.
I would not take it for granted that the boats had consistent hardware over the years. I replaced the original seacocks with full bore 1-1/2".
My recommendation is to look at the markings on the old hoses for the proper size.

When I replaced the hoses, I used Trident's 250 series. It has a wire helix between 2-ply reinforcement and good flexibility.
