Kidde fire extinguisher recall

For those who aren't aware Kidde just recalled some extinguishers. Both the Marine ones on my boat were part of the recall.

It only seem to be plastic handle ones.

I just got off the phone with Kidde. It took only a few minutes to arrange for the replacement of my four extinguishers. Once my replacements arrive I'll send the old units back. Very simple process.

Thanks for posting Jim, I just looked at the date I posted the recall and still haven’t received mine. I will have to call.

Well that was weird!

About 3 weeks ago I went to the Kidde web page and filled out all the info. It came back and said the extinguisher that I had was NOT part of the recall. Today I got a replacement extinguisher delivered!

I suggest you buy a lottery ticket

Three of the four replacement extinguishers I requested arrived today. The recalled units await pickup. Pretty painless process. Well implemented recall in my opinion.
