Cape Dory 28 Bulkhead mounted table
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find some dimensions of the drop down table offered on Cape Dory 28s. Specifically, the table that slides out on stainless rails. I've seen multiple posts where members PM or email dimensions to others, but nothing posted. I'm specifically looking for the width of the halves, and how high the table sits above the port berth when down.
Any help would be most appreciated!

Re: Cape Dory 28 Bulkhead mounted table
I'll measure this out for you on my CD28 this weekend and post back!
Just curious, on other's CD28's, are the salon sette backs hinged for flipping up or removable storage covers? (I've seen photos of both, wondering what is original.) Mine has seat backs that hinge upwards, and they take up about an inch of depth space in the seat.

Re: Cape Dory 28 Bulkhead mounted table
Thanks tons Rob. If you take any pictures, I'd be glad to see those, too!
My understanding is that the backs that "flip up" the length of the settee are actually for creating pipe berths, which Cape Dory tried on the 28 for a while, but later decided against continuing. Others may know what years these were offered.
I think there was also a pilot berth option on the port side in pre-1978 models. The port settee on mine is quite a bit wider than the stbd, which I believe is a holdover from the pilot berth design. Also, the door to the head/v-berth is offset to stbd quite a bit.
Mine has individual doors that fold down to access the storage behind the settee back. I think this is also factory, although I'm still having quite a bit of fun trying to figure out what was original to this particular CD28, and what was a modification, she was modified quite a bit for offshore work, and spent a while in Tahiti, being sailed there and back (via Hawaii) from Portland Oregon by a previous owner.

Re: Cape Dory 28 Bulkhead mounted table
Hi Rob or anyone,,
I'm about to start on my table project, still looking for dimensions, if anyone can help me out. Width of it folded, length, and the height it is mounted above the port settee would be awesome. I really appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Re: Cape Dory 28 Bulkhead mounted table
Of course I completely forgot by the time Saturday rolled around...
But I did remember I forgot on Sunday and took pics with a tape measure;
and then forgot to get them posted...
Anyway, here they are: http://sv-kayla.org/KAYLA/misc/table/
Let me know if there are other specifics you need.
