Cape Dory colors
Does anyone know if there are official colors for the cockpit, cabin, and deck. I want an off white and a tan color. I can't find anything. I thought I saw that oyster white and sand were original colors. Thanks.

If you're searching for gel coat, Gelcoat Products in Seattle has Cape Dory Beige and Cape Dory White. Each was about

Re: Cape Dory colors
Thanks. I called them and they have Cape Dory colors in gel coat. I don't know if that's the same as paint, (Not much experience with fiberglass).
They don't have a conversion chart. I'm hoping someone can just tell me what is the match is in Interlux or awlgrip. I failed all the color tests when applying for the captains license.. I'm not particular about colors I just want to try to keep things stock.

Re: Cape Dory colors
I just got a catalog from Jamestown Distributors. I'm thinking of trying the product they advertise "Total Boat" primer, and Wet Edge one part topside, Oyster white and the non-skid in Sand Beige. Its a lot cheaper than Interlux and Awlgrip. Any comments appreciated. I already bought Interlux but I will return it to WM. I'm not trying to make it perfect just clean. Hopefully in a few years I can afford to hire experts. Here is a photo after haulout. It was covered with ten years of bird droppings and the canvass was shredded. My next big expense is new sails and tan colored canvass. (Or maybe I'll gold plate the cleats and portholes). I've already met 5 CD owners in my new Marina at Ventura; A 32', another 30K and at least four 28'ers. Everybody keeps telling me how nice my boat is. Really motivates me.
